GO FOR A SWIM.
AN OCEAN OF CREATIVITY
DON’T WORRY, WE’RE ALL JUMPING IN TOGETHER!
The journey begins the moment you step into that vast ocean of potential. But for many of us, it’s a journey that feels terrifying. It feels like standing at the edge of something enormous, uncertain, and unknown. The waters before you are vast and boundless, and you may wonder: "What if I sink? What if I’m not ready? What if I fail?" Creativity, much like the ocean, can seem both inviting and overwhelming at the same time. It's like the unknown whispers to you, and you feel drawn to it, but something holds you back. The fear of the unknown. The fear of diving in, of being seen, of making something that may not be good enough. But remember — this is your ocean, and it’s calling you.
FEAR, DOUBT, ANXIETY IN CREATIVITY.
The biggest hurdle is not the vastness of the ocean itself, but the weight of the doubts and fears that can drown your creative spirit before it even gets a chance to breathe. Fear masquerades as practical advice, telling you: “You’re not good enough.” Or, “Who do you think you are? There are already so many voices out there. Why add another one?” Maybe you’ve heard those words — from others, or from the quiet corners of your own mind. They don’t want you to dive in. They want you to stay on the shore, playing it safe. And all around you, there’s the pressure to conform. To follow the path that others have already paved. To stick to what’s “proven” and avoid making waves. But here’s the thing — when you stay on the shore, you’re holding back the very thing the world needs: your unique voice.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU STAY STUCK IN FEAR?
What happens if you listen to that fear? What happens if you stay in your comfort zone, refusing to dip your toes into the water? You may avoid rejection. You may avoid the discomfort of uncertainty. But at what cost? You miss the magic that happens when you push yourself past your limits. You miss the unexpected beauty that arises when you decide to swim into uncharted waters. You miss the creation of something only you could bring to life. Because the truth is, that fear will always be there. But if you let it control you, it will keep you on the shore, never realizing your full creative potential. How long will you sit on the sand, waiting for the perfect moment that will never come? The ocean is always there, waiting for you. But only you can decide to dive in.
And here’s the thing: the ocean of creativity is always open to you. It’s a living, breathing thing — constantly shifting, evolving, and presenting new opportunities to those who dare to explore it. But it requires action. It requires you to step beyond the comfort of the land and take that plunge into the unknown. To let the waters carry you to places you never imagined. It requires you to embrace the unknown with all its twists and turns. When you swim, you learn. You make mistakes, you fall, and you get back up. But every single experience, every piece of treasure you collect along the way, brings you closer to your full creative self.
ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
The ocean of creativity is yours to explore. It is endless, and the possibilities are infinite. But it all starts with one decision — the decision to go for a swim. The decision to let go of the shore and trust that the waters will guide you to where you need to be. It’s not about perfection. It’s not about knowing all the answers. It’s about trusting the process, embracing the journey, and allowing yourself to create with abandon.
Your creative potential is not just a flicker of possibility — it is an infinite resource. It’s like the ocean itself, vast and untapped, waiting for you to explore its depths. But in order to access it, you must first step into the water. Don’t worry about how deep it is or whether you’ll drown. Go deeper. Swim harder. Find the shipwrecks, the treasures, the hidden currents that will shape your work and your life. And remember: the journey doesn’t have to be taken alone. Others will meet you along the way. People who resonate with your voice, your ideas, your dreams. Those who are meant to walk with you. Who knows — the right collaborators may be waiting for you just beneath the surface.
And here’s the ultimate truth — no one can take this journey for you. It’s yours and yours alone. But once you start swimming, once you begin to explore, you’ll find that the ocean of creativity begins to open up before you. It will teach you, challenge you, and lead you to discoveries you could never have imagined. Every piece of glassware you uncover, every wreck you explore, and every moment of doubt you overcome will lead you closer to the truest expression of your creative self.
For now, don’t overthink it. Don’t try to figure out all the steps ahead of you. For the next 10 minutes… just go for a swim. I’ve created a video where I dive a bit deeper into a visualization exercise that I’d love for you to check out, here:
